Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking Inspectors to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision. This role requires NFPA-based knowledge, safety compliance, and professional communication with clients.

Qualified candidates will have 3–5 years in fire protection inspections, NICET or state certifications as required by location, and the ability to work independently or in a team while meeting schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience inspecting fire protection systems
• NICET and/or state certification may be required depending on location
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems following NFPA codes
• Record and report deficiencies to customers and SFS
• Communicate professionally with customers and offsite monitoring companies
• Operate inspection tools (heat/smoke detectors, backflow kit, pump equipment)
• Coordinate inspections and respond to on-call requests
• Maintain company vehicle and tools in safe condition
• Follow safety programs and participate in toolbox talks
• Train inspector trainees in applicable fire protection topics
• Perform other duties as assigned
