The Fire Protection Engineering Intern will support the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
• Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office for document creation and email communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with basic design tasks and documentation.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, design development, and construction phases.
• Support construction phase activities including site visits, RFI responses, and reviewing shop drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
