Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our team. The Fire Protection Engineering Intern will support the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.

Qualifications

• Full-time student currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
• Coursework in a related field.
• Previous internship or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead Fire Protection Engineers with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, design development, and construction phases.
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
