Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, seeks a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to support design teams and gain practical experience. The role involves assisting with design tasks, documentation, and participation in project activities. Immigration sponsorship is limited to TN visa candidates.

Compensation ranges from $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Full-time student status preferred; collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across projects is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead Fire Protection Engineers with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, design development, and construction phases.
• Assist with construction phase activities, including site visits, RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and updating record drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members.

Education

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology
