Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our team. The intern will assist with basic design tasks, participate in project documentation, and gain practical experience in the fire protection discipline.

This internship is for full-time students pursuing a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Technology, with opportunities to learn department standards and collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals in a professional office

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
• Familiarity with design and production software to develop project documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for document creation and communication.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead Fire Protection Engineers with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, design development, and construction phases.
• Assist with construction phase activities, including site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings.
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed.
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
