Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team across multiple US offices. You will develop comprehensive fire protection designs for critical infrastructure projects, ensuring code compliance and effective life safety measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Travel may be required domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection engineering designs including layouts, water supply analyses, and plans for sprinklers and alarms.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects with life safety, fire suppression and alarm analyses.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC, and local regulations and sign off.
• Perform site assessments and client proposals in collaboration with sales staff.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee engineers on projects.
