CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to deliver comprehensive design for fire protection systems across federal and commercial projects. The role supports life safety analyses, design reviews, and code compliance while collaborating with sales and clients.

Hybrid work environment with opportunities at Boston, MA; Fairfax, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; Maitland, FL; Raleigh, NC; and Dallas, TX offices. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Develop comprehensive fire protection designs including layouts, basis-of-design, water supply and hydraulic analyses, and detailed plans for sprinkler and suppression systems, pumps and alarms.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects, providing life safety and fire protection analysis and design.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs and review drafts for regulatory adherence.
• Meet with clients to review current and future design needs and perform site assessments and studies as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff and supervise junior engineers when applicable.
