Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to develop comprehensive fire protection designs, ensuring NFPA/UFC compliance and life safety requirements. The role supports federal and commercial projects, offering a hybrid work model across multiple US offices, including Maitland, FL.

You will collaborate with clients, engage in proposal development, and mentor junior staff while driving innovative solutions for resilient infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Architectural/Chemical) or related field.
PE license required.
Minimum 7 years of related experience.
Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Develop fire protection designs including hydraulics, water supply, and sprinkler systems.
Act as QFPE on federal projects and ensure life safety compliance.
Review designs for NFPA/UFC and other regulations.
Collaborate with sales on proposals and meet with clients.
Mentor junior staff and oversee engineers on projects.
Perform site assessments and attend conferences as needed.
Provide guidance on life safety and design standards.
