Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX. You will lead fire and life-safety design reviews, inspections, QA, and coordination with project teams throughout construction.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of fire protection experience, and strong knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards. US citizenship and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Able to work with government personnel, contractors and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of fire protection requirements per UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure fire protection features are executed.
• Perform reviews, inspections, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Prepare technical reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs and field changes.
• Conduct final acceptance testing of fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
