Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee design/BIM for new construction sprinkler projects. Lead a team, ensure NFPA compliance, review submittals and hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with field teams and vendors.

The role requires strong project management, CAD proficiency, and effective communication. The position is headquartered in Richmond, VA with relocation support; occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in fire protection designer and/or equivalent
• Prior supervisor/management experience
• NFPA knowledge and local code familiarity
• Able to interpret drawings/specifications
• Proficient in Windows CAD and fire protection software
• Strong organization and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead design/BIM for new construction sprinkler projects
• Review drawings for NFPA code compliance and specs
• Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations
• Coordinate with suppliers and field superintendent
• Supervise designers and monitor design hours for profitability
• Coordinate shop drawings and permit processes with A/E and AHJ
• Lead kickoff meetings and department progress reviews
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and incidents are reported
