Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee the design/BIM aspects of our new construction sprinkler projects. You will supervise the design team, ensure NFPA code compliance, and coordinate with field operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role requires strong CAD skills, NFPA knowledge, and leadership experience. This position offers work-from-home flexibility initially and relocation to our Richmond, VA headquarters as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in fire protection designer or equivalent.
• Prior supervisor/management experience.
• Understanding of NFPA and local authorities' requirements.
• Ability to interpret architect drawings/specifications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and CAD software.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general supervision of design/BIM for new sprinkler projects.
• Review NFPA codes and project specifications for compliance.
• Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations.
• Procure material stock lists for construction projects.
• Coordinate material delivery with customer and field superintendent.
• Supervise designers and review drawings for standards compliance.
• Monitor design hours for profitability and efficiency.
• Lead kickoff meetings with superintendents and field crews.
• Coordinate with A/E during shop drawing reviews.
