Job summary

P2S|CMTA in Long Beach, CA is offering a Summer Internship for students pursuing Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection. You will join the Fire Protection Design Studio, gaining hands‑on experience on client projects in office and field settings.

The 10-12 week program runs June through August (September depending on availability). Interns will collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to designs and prototyping, assist in testing and documentation, and receive mentorship and real‑world

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection or other related program.
• Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• FE/EIT is a plus.
• Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards.
• Detail oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Contribute to design and prototyping activities to develop and validate concepts.
• Support testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable solutions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and generate progress reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in meetings to share insights.
• Engage in training sessions to advance technical skills.
