Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and program Fire and Life Safety systems. The role involves working with the service team and clients to ensure optimal system performance, while maintaining strict safety and reporting standards.

The candidate should have 2–5 years in the field, NFPA knowledge, and the ability to train other technicians. A valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 are required. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within the Fire Life and Safety industry.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control, GUIs, and networked solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Fire Alarm circuit integrity and fault troubleshooting.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Knowledge of Article 760 of NFPA 70 for electrical installations.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10.
• Customer-focused with project and people management skills.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing Fire and Life Safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice systems, smoke control, networked).
• Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect faults.
• Ensure system detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
• Produce repair reports per NFPA for customer acceptance and billing.
• Program systems via laptop computers and ensure circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Provide support and guidance to other technicians.
