Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team, and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance.

This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of system troubleshooting and repair.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in repair or systems technician role within Fire Life and Safety.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control and networked solutions.
• Troubleshoot circuit opens/shorts/ground faults and ensure circuit integrity.
• Able to program/repair fire alarm systems using a laptop.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 Article 760.
• OSHA safety standards; OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Read fire system design drawings and communicate with customers.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds; pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Fire and Life Safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice, smoke control, networked).
• Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect faults.
• Ensure maximum detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
• Produce NFPA-compliant repair reports for customer acceptance and billing.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Maintain Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Provide support and guidance to other technicians.
