Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and program fire and life safety systems. You will work with our service team and clients to ensure critical systems operate reliably, with attention to detail in troubleshooting and repair.

Strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential as you interact with clients and teammates. The role emphasizes hands-on repair, system programming via laptop, and ensuring circuit integrity,

Qualifications

Two to five years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within the Fire Life and Safety industry.
Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control, GUIs, and networked solutions.
NFPA 72 code requirements familiarity.
Article 760 (Electrical Code) knowledge for fire system installation.
Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop.
Ability to read fire system design drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and repairing fire and life safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice, smoke control).
Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect faults.
Ensure maximum detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
Produce repair reports per NFPA for customer acceptance and billing.
Program systems via laptop computers.
Ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
Provide guidance to other technicians.
