Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician to troubleshoot, program, and repair life safety systems. This role works with the service team and clients to ensure critical systems operate reliably, requiring attention to detail and strong communication.

Candidates should have 2–5 years in the field and relevant NFPA 72 knowledge. The position includes competitive pay and benefits, a company vehicle, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in repair or tech role within Fire Life & Safety.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control, GUIs, and networked solutions.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Fire Alarm circuit integrity and troubleshooting circuit opens/shorts/ground.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Intermediate knowledge of Article 760 of NFPA 70 for installation of fire systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for testing fire alarm systems.
• Ability to demonstrate operation of equipment to customers and explain usage.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing Fire and Life Safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice systems, smoke control, networked).
• Use troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Ensure maximum system detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
• Produce repair reports per NFPA for customer acceptance and billing.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Provide support and guidance to other technicians.
