WSP is seeking a Full-Time Consultant - Fire and Life Safety Engineering in Houston, TX. The role focuses on developing advanced fire protection and life safety systems, guiding clients and project teams through code compliance, and maintaining high standards of design quality.

You will lead design reviews, mentor colleagues, and stay current with evolving building codes and industry best practices to deliver safe, innovative solutions for diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering required.
• PE license required or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in fire protection and life safety.
• Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, Standards and Regulations (IBC, NFPA, UFC, OBO).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop the design of state-of-the-art fire protection and life safety systems.
• Provide expert guidance to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Lead design reviews, calculations and documentation to ensure accuracy and standards.
• Mentor project teams and drive technical excellence across projects.
