Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards and Training & EMS, seeks a Curriculum Development Specialist to develop and maintain Firefighter/EMS curricula in compliance with standards and regulations. This full-time role requires coordinating with leadership and instructors to ensure high-quality program delivery.

The position emphasizes continuous improvement, curriculum outcomes, and collaboration with various stakeholders across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after high school.
• Education and experience must be in education, curriculum development, instructional design, psychology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain Firefighter and EMS curricula, ensuring alignment with standards and accreditation.
• Research trends in firefighting and EMS education and incorporate findings into curriculum design.
• Manage curriculum-related administrative tasks including documentation and record organization.
• Create and modify digital and print curriculum materials across instructors, programs, and locations.
• Design and implement assessment tools; analyze data to improve curricula and materials.
• Prepare concise reports and presentations summarizing participation and outcomes for leadership.
• Collaborate with leadership, subject-matter experts, and frontline staff to align curriculum with instructional capabilities.
• Coordinate communication with instructors, students, employers, and partner agencies for feedback.
