SEA CORP seeks a Fire Control Technician - Test Engineer to support lab, integration, and operational testing of submarine combat systems at NUWC Newport, RI. The role involves evaluating system capabilities against requirements, generating test reports, and coordinating with program engineers on test strategies.

Travel to test events may be required; a Secret security clearance is required on hire. Ideal candidates hold a BS in an engineering field or equivalent military experience with US Navy

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent military experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems including Naval Advanced C School.
• 3 years of related experience with submarine combat systems; cybersecurity experience and certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab test support evaluating system capabilities meeting stated requirements.
• Attend meetings to discuss test results and present findings.
• Write clear, concise test reports detailing testing progress and issues.
• Work with program engineers to review design requirements and testing based on operational experience.
• Identify, investigate, and analyze software and hardware failures to determine root causes.
• Develop troubleshooting procedures and temporary workarounds as needed.
• Perform risk analysis for impacts to operational capabilities.

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Fire Control Technician - Test Engineer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP has an immediate full-time opening for a recentlyseparated Navy Fire Control Technicians who will provide support as a TestEngineer in Newport, RI. In this position, the candidate will provide system,integration, and operational testing support for SWFTS (3rd Party Targeting,CIS, BYG-1, SONAR, Imaging, Tomahawk, and other Weapon/Combat Systems) programsfor all U.S. submarine classes. The work location is Newport, Rhode Islandsupporting laboratories at NUWC Newport but may include travel to support testevents. These events are conducted in developer facilities, onboard submarinesboth dockside and underway, and at Navy shipyard and shore sites.

Please note that this is not a Remote Position and that anActive Secret Security Clearance or higher is required on the date of hire.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Providing lab test support evaluating system capabilities meet or exceed stated requirements.
• Good verbal communication skills are required for attending meetings to provide brief discussions/presentations on test results and findings.
• Writing clear and concise test reports detailing successful testing completed, issues with performing tests, and problems found.
• Working with program engineers to review system design requirements and make recommendations for recommended testing based on operational experience.
• Identifying, investigating and analyzing software and hardware failures to determine root-causes.
• Developing troubleshooting procedures for problems identified.
• Generating temporary workarounds for problems while long-term solutions are analyzed, developed and implemented.Performing risk analysis for impact to operational capabilities associated with reported failures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelorof Science (BS) degree in an Engineering discipline. In lieu of a bachelor's degree,qualified candidates that have 8 years of direct combat systems and/or militaryexperience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems including completion of Naval Advanced"C" School in the technical field of experience can be accepted.

Experience: 3 yearsof related experience (with the BS degree), specifically working with submarinecombat systems. Direct experience with combat system cybersecurity and currentcyber workforce certification a plus.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Location: Middletown, RI

Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)

Clearance: Secret

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
