Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role collaborates with sales, project teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation of fire alarm solutions.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and effective teamwork. The role demands two to five years in fire-life safety, the ability to program mid-range systems, read drawings, and operate

Qualifications

Two to five years of experience in a technician role within fire-life safety.
Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
Ability to read fire system design drawings.
Knowledge of NFPA 72 and building/fire codes relevant to installation.

Responsibilities

Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for successful execution.
Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
Program and commission complex fire alarm systems and obtain AHJ acceptance.
Create commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA requirements.
Troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective resolutions.
Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Program systems via laptop computers.
Support and guide other technicians and manage job progress efficiently.
