Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities to work with our sales and project teams to design, install, and commission fire alarm solutions for clients.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer communication, and on-time project delivery, with opportunities to mentor peers and contribute to field surveys, system tests, and acceptance documentation in compliance with NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of technician experience in fire-life safety.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
• Read fire system design drawings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• OSHA 10 certification and NFPA knowledge as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems for customer acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and resolve them effectively.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budgets.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Assist in project inventory oversight and scheduling.
