Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician in Pleasanton, CA, with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role collaborates with sales, project teams, and clients to ensure sound design, install, and commissioning of life-safety systems.

Strong communication and adherence to NFPA standards are essential. The candidate will review layouts, produce surveys and logs, program systems, and deliver inspection reports toAHJs.

Qualifications

• Two to five years in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to program and commission fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project success.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to AHJ acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budgets.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Assist in managing job scheduling and progress efficiently.
• Demonstrate operation of equipment and explain proper use to customers.
• Comply with safety programs and company policies.
