Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician in Harahan, LA to troubleshoot, repair and program Fire and Life Safety systems. You will work with our service team and clients to ensure systems operate reliably and reporting is accurate for billing and compliance.

Qualified candidates bring 2–5 years in repair or service roles, NFPA 72 knowledge, and the ability to read drawings. OSHA 10 and NICET I certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within the Fire Life and Safety industry.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems, including smoke control, GUIs, and networked solutions.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Fire Alarm circuit integrity and troubleshooting.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical code basics for fire systems.
• Understanding regulatory requirements for testing fire alarm systems.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Ability to explain system operation to customers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Fire and Life Safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice systems).
• Use tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Ensure maximum detection and alarm coverage during repairs.
• Produce repair reports per NFPA for customer acceptance and billing.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Provide support to other technicians.
