Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled service technician to diagnose, repair, and install Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites across the Nashville area.

You will interpret blueprints and specifications, perform panel programming, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service excellence. The role requires 5+ years in low voltage electrical systems, NICET II preferred, and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call

Qualifications

• 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• NICET II certification – Strongly Preferred
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Physically capable of carrying 50-70 lbs and working in challenging positions

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and contact customer representative to determine problems.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on fire alarm systems and related building products at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals to repair equipment.
• Service, troubleshoot and install Fire & Life Safety systems including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read blueprints, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and document work.
• Work on-call rotation and provide training to others on the service team.
• Provide solutions and upsell opportunities to improve facility efficiency.
