Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites across Ohio. You will interpret blueprints and manuals, follow prescribed procedures and deliver exceptional customer service.

This role requires physical capability, valid driver's license, and Ohio Fire Alarm License. Opportunities for training, advancement, and benefits are provided by the employer.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physically capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and working in tight spaces.
• Willing to travel overnight.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record per company requirements.
• State of Ohio Fire Alarm License.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls, diagnose equipment/system malfunctions and contact customer representatives.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related products at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and manuals.
• Exhibit excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers.
• Provide quotes and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently.
