Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an experienced NICET I or NICET II Certified Fire Alarm Test & Inspection Technician to support our service area primarily between Eugene and Salem, Oregon. The role involves testing and inspecting fire alarm systems, with on-site responsibilities and travel as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems, strong math and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET and/or state certification required based on location (preferred).
• 3–5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems; 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems per NFPA codes.
• Record and report deficiencies to SFS and customers.
• Communicate professionally with customers and monitoring companies.
• Operate tools for inspections (heat/smoke detector kits, backflow and pump equipment).
• Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections on schedule.
• On-call status as required by location for emergencies.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools per policies.
• Follow SFS safety programs and participate in toolbox talks.
• Train inspector trainees in applicable areas.
