Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Texas seeks a Fire Alarm Construction Estimator/Sales professional to estimate and prepare proposals for fire alarm installation systems. The role includes lead generation, cold calling, and outside sales.

Key duties: bid layouts, takeoffs, vendor pricing, quotes, and timely estimates by fixed bid dates. Collaboration with sales, operations, and design teams and accurate data entry in Compass and other systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Open to candidates with experience in fire alarm sales, design, fire alarm estimating, or installation/project management.
• Familiarity with NFPA Code and ability to read, interpret, and apply.
• Ability to create alarm and suppression layouts and perform material take-offs.
• Strong math skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Self-starter with ability to use independent judgement; meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to job sites.
• Experience with Siemens, Gamewell FCI, Honeywell, or other propriety systems preferred.
• CFPS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform bid layouts.
• Complete material takeoffs.
• Obtain vendor pricing.
• Write quotes.
• Cold calling.
• Generating new business for the fire alarm installation/construction team.
• Outside sales.
• Perform basic calculations and code research and assist other estimators as needed.
• Read, learn, interpret, and apply code requirements pertaining to job specifications.
• Work with sales, operations, and design staff as needed to interpret project specifications.
• Produce timely and accurate estimates according to fixed bid dates/schedules.
• Produce status reports and act as a key participant in planning meetings.
• Provide timely and accurate entries into operating systems and update Compass regularly.
• Model the way and act in accordance with the Company’s Core Values at all times.
• Perform other duties as required and or assigned.
