Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Estimator to prepare proposals for alarm systems. The role involves bid layouts, material takeoffs, vendor pricing, and quote writing, with coordination across sales, operations, and design teams.

Experience designing or estimating fire alarm systems, NFPA code interpretation, and strong math skills are essential. Occasional overnight travel may be required as part of project support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years designing or estimating fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards.
• Ability to create alarm and suppression layouts and perform material take-offs.
• Strong math skills and precise calculations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform bid layouts and material takeoffs.
• Obtain vendor pricing and write quotes.
• Produce timely estimates per fixed bid dates.
• Prepare proposals and participate in planning meetings.
• Update project systems and logs (Compass).
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and design staff.
