Job summary

Chime is seeking a Business Control Manager to strengthen the first line of defense within Compliance. You will own the control environment for a defined business unit, design and validate controls with engineering and product teams, and monitor regulatory changes impacting our controls.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product, legal, and operations to align with consumer protection standards. The base salary starts at $101,000 and can go up to $140,000, with bonus, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Regulatory compliance and risk management experience in fintech.
• Experience documenting risks, controls, and issues in a GRC platform.
• Ability to advise product/engineering teams on regulatory risk.

Responsibilities

• Own the control environment for assigned business unit and maintain control records.
• Evaluate new products for regulatory risk before launch.
• Conduct proactive reviews of processes and control environments.
• Map risks to regulatory obligations and maintain records in the GRC platform.
• Design and validate preventive, detective, and directive controls with product owners.
• Lead incident control workstreams and close compliance issues.
• Identify systemic weaknesses from control gaps and recommend improvements.
• Translate regulatory changes into control impact with Regulatory Affairs.
• Review procedures, disclosures, marketing and complaints to spot risks.
• Build relationships with partners and support audits.
• Explain controls to stakeholders and document decisions.
• Maintain auditable risk/control decision records for governance reporting.
