Job summary

Amazon in Arlington, VA is hiring for an Accounts Payable-focused role within Global Finance Operations Services. You will process payments, analyze vendor data, and drive process improvements using Excel, SQL, and other tools.

The role collaborates with vendors, offshore partners, vendor managers, and internal teams across time zones, including PST. A strong focus on data-driven decisions and ensuring timely, accurate payments is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
• 3+ years of finance experience.
• 2+ years applying KPIs to analyses.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or analytical field.
• Knowledge of financial controls and procedures.
• Experience using data to influence business decisions.
• Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute procure-to-pay processes. Especially, payment processing.
• Recognize escalation trends and identify defects and root causes.
• Partner with upstream and downstream teams.
• Leverage data from databases and tools (Excel/SQL) to report and analyze.
• Create and maintain SOPs and Amazon-specific operational documents.
• Report key metrics on daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Escalate issues to leadership for investigation and resolution.
• Drive continuous process improvements and lead projects.
