Job summary

Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Stateline, NV seeks a Sommelier to curate and elevate the guest wine experience through expert knowledge and exceptional service. You will manage the wine program, educate staff, and collaborate with the culinary team on world-class wine pairings that align with Forbes standard dining.

You will offer tableside wine service, train FOH staff on wine service, and maintain inventory while ensuring proper storage and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 3 or Diploma, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of Sommelier experience in fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurant.
• Strong wine pairing knowledge and global cuisine understanding.
• Leadership and hospitality-focused guest-first mindset.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing a high-end wine program or beverage cost controls.
• Knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide service standards is a plus.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and team-education capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Curate and maintain world-class wine list that meets Forbes standards.
• Source, purchase, and inventory control of wines; ensure proper storage.
• Provide professional wine recommendations tailored to guest preferences.
• Offer tableside wine service, including decanting and presentation.
• Train servers and bartenders on wine service and glassware.
• Educate FOH staff through ongoing wine education and tastings.
• Engage with guests, sharing wine stories to enhance experiences.
• Uphold local liquor laws and monitor wine costs for profitability.
• Collaborate with culinary team on food and wine pairings.
