Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is hiring a Restaurant Server to deliver high-quality food and beverage service across the hotel venues. The Server sets up, serves, and breaks down dining areas, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency and service.

Candidates should have two years of server experience in a full-service restaurant (fine dining preferred), a high school diploma or GED, and Food Handler and TIPS certificates. Flexible hours including weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of server experience in a full-service restaurant preferred, ideally fine dining.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Food handlers and TIPS certificates required.
• Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests in a prompt and professional manner.
• Engage and interact with guests as appropriate.
• Respond to guests’ questions and requests.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Serve food and beverage orders after checking for correct temperature, appearance and portions.
• Refill when necessary.
• Operate POS system and ensure orders are verified and transmitted promptly.
• Adhere to cash handling and credit card policies.
• Periodically check-in with tables to meet guests’ expectations.
• Maintain dining areas, stations and servicing equipment.
• Complete closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
