Job summary

The Townsend Hotel is seeking a server for regular full-time hours in Birmingham, MI. The successful candidate will take customer orders, ensure timely presentation of meals, and maintain accurate cash handling with a modern POS system.

You will collaborate with expeditors, bartenders, and management to deliver exceptional service. Applicants should have at least 2 years in fine dining, strong English communication, and the ability to upsell and enhance the dining experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of fine dining experience preferred.
• Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders and ensure proper presentation and timing of all food and beverages.
• Open and close guest checks with proper cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge and experience working with computerized POS operations.
• Communicate with expeditor, bartender, server assistants and management in a professional manner.
• Moderate guest requests and communicate specials and substitutions to kitchen and management.
• Upsell to increase check averages and provide attentive service.
• Fulfill side work and monitor assigned tables to anticipate guest needs.
• Observe guests to exceed expectations and maintain Forbes Service Standards.
