Job summary

The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI is seeking an experienced bartender to join Rugby Grille. You will craft beverages to standard recipes, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and manage POS transactions and stock. The role requires 3–5 years of bartending, TIPS certification, and strong English communication.

Expect a full-time, on-site schedule with strong focus on cost control and guest service. Responsibilities include limiting waste, assisting with floor service, and upholding Forbes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• TIPS alcohol certification, or proof of certification within 30 days of employment.
• 3-5 years of bartending experience, with minimum of 1 year craft cocktail bartending.
• Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.

Responsibilities

• Produces beverages in accordance to Rugby Grille portion and ingredients standards.
• Delivers gracious, thoughtful, personal experiences so memorable that guests reference you by name.
• Operates all transactions through the POS system and records changes.
• Observes guests consuming alcohol in line with Alcohol Awareness training.
• Utilizes classic and modern cocktail techniques and builds cocktails from scratch.
• Supports staff with service on the floor, including table service when needed.
• Assists host/hostess in greeting guests and handling calls.
• Inspects requisitions for supplies to stock bar and wine cellars.
• Maintains beverages, fruits, and supplies to control costs and stock levels.
• Ensures cleanliness behind bar, storage, and equipment.
