The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI is seeking an experienced bartender to join Rugby Grille. You will craft beverages to standard recipes, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and manage POS transactions and stock. The role requires 3–5 years of bartending, TIPS certification, and strong English communication.
Expect a full-time, on-site schedule with strong focus on cost control and guest service. Responsibilities include limiting waste, assisting with floor service, and upholding Forbes
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produces beverages in accordance to Rugby Grille portion and ingredients standards.
Follows Forbes Travel Guide quality standards in delivering gracious, thoughtful, personal experiences so memorable that the guest asks for or references to you by name
Operates all transactions through the point of sale system and records change transactions.
Demonstrates keen observation of all guests consuming alcoholic beverages as trained in the Alcohol Awareness program.
Comfortable with various bartending techniques including: jiggering, stirring, various shaking methods.
Working knowledge of classic and modern cocktail recipes.
Experienced building cocktails from scratch, using fresh juices, house made syrups, bitters, etc.
Supports Rugby Grille staff with service on the floor when needed, including handling table service.
Assists host/hostess in monitoring incoming phone calls and welcoming guests.
Inspects P.M. requisitions of supplies, fruits, and beverages necessary to stock bar and wine cellars.
Maintains and monitors all beverages, fruits, and supplies in order to maintain reasonable liquor cost and supply level.
Responsible for cleanliness behind bar, storage space and equipment

High school graduate or equivalent required.
TIPS alcohol certification, or proof of certification within 30 days of employment.
3-5 years of bartending experience, with minimum of 1 year craft cocktail bartending.
Requires the ability to communicate with guests in English.
Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move goods weighing up to 75lbs.
Requires full mobility for duration of shift.
