Job summary

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, NV seeks a friendly Host/Cashier Swing for the Steakhouse to greet guests, manage reservations, seat guests, and handle cash and card transactions with accuracy in a fast-paced, upscale setting.

You will maintain seating charts, assist guests, answer calls, and work with servers and management to deliver a seamless dining experience while adhering to cash handling policies and hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a host/cashier role, preferably in a fine dining or high-volume setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly personality.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (swing shift availability is essential).
• Knowledge of POS systems (Aloha, OpenTable) is a plus.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary gaming licenses and certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, confirming reservations and managing waitlists.
• Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and communicating any specials or important information.
• Maintain accurate seating charts and floor plans, ensuring optimal table turnover and guest flow.
• Answer phones professionally, taking reservations, and addressing guest inquiries.
• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and gift certificates.
• Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Resolve guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and discretion.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including cash handling protocols and guest service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
