Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Personal Banker in the United States to build customer relationships, recommend financial products, and deliver an exceptional banking experience. You will learn UMB’s offerings and sales process while growing your role within Consumer banking.

You will manage a loan pipeline, cross-sell home equity loans, personal loans, auto loans, and mortgage referrals, and work in a fast-paced team with ongoing coaching to meet ambitious sales goals.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of retail banking sales experience or other relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain an NMLS registration within 90 days.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings.
• Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately.
• Strong math skills and ability to problem solve within risk parameters/tolerances.
• Demonstrated ability to make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open-ended questions, and listen to establish trust.
• Strong business development capabilities for proactively growing your own personal book of business.
• Thrives in a high-energy, sales-driven team, and benefits from daily coaching.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Asking personalized questions to convert every interaction into learning about customers' financial goals.
• Individually creating and managing a loan pipeline with strong closing conversions (home equity, personal, auto loans, mortgage referrals).
• Creating sales opportunities by sourcing consumer lending through networking, conversations, and proactive sourcing.
• Learning banking processes like transactions, cash handling, and documentation per legal standards.
• Challenging daily KPIs while delivering unparalleled customer experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
