Job summary

University of California, Riverside's Physics & Astronomy department seeks a Financial Services Supervisor to oversee administration, ensure fiscal integrity of non-C&G funds, and back up purchasing/travel operations. You will supervise staff, coordinate ledger reconciliations, procard/travel/purchasing compliance, and complex dept/lab purchases, while aligning with university policies and CBAs.

A Bachelor's degree and 4–7 years of related, plus prior supervision, are required; strong

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems.
• Proficiency in use of spreadsheet and database software.
• Interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, ability to multi-task effectively in a high volume environment, organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage changing priorities, and manage staff time and efforts accordingly.
• Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide administration support to Faculty, Researchers, Staff, and students within the Department of Physics & Astronomy.
• Maintain fiscal integrity for non-C&G funds and accounts, ensuring funds are in auditable/reportable condition.
• Assist with monthly ledger reconciliation, procard compliance, travel compliance, purchasing compliance, assist purchasing with complex dept/lab purchases to ensure compliance, equipment management, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Responsible for supervision and backup of purchasing assistant and travel assistant desk.
