Job summary

Scale Media, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Data Analyst who goes beyond report building to own the truth behind revenue and forecast accuracy in a fully remote role.

You will collaborate with Finance to understand payments, forecasting, and financial reporting, while ensuring data integrity across processors and banking partners. You will build forecasts, maintain P&L reporting by brand/channel, and partner with Data Engineers to fix discrepancies, leveraging Snowflake, Sigma, KNIME/dbt, and SQL

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of data analysis experience, preferably supporting finance
• Forecasting experience with revenue, orders, or expenses in SQL/spreadsheets/BI
• Financial concepts: revenue recognition, COGS, gross vs net sales, contribution margin
• Experience in DTC e-commerce with Shopify/Amazon Seller Central and Stripe data
• Strong Snowflake (SQL) and Sigma skills; familiarity with Tableau/Looker/Power BI is a plus
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience with KNIME or dbt; familiarity with Alteryx or Python is a plus
• Awareness of ELT tools (Hevo, Fivetran, Airbyte, Azure) and ability to communicate with Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Forecast revenue, orders, subscriptions, and expenses by brand and channel and update forecasts as actuals arrive
• Track forecast vs. actuals, explain gaps, and flag meaningful misses to Finance
• Build and maintain P&L reporting for revenue, gross vs. net sales, discounts, refunds, COGS, and contribution margin
• Report on unit economics by brand, channel, and product
• Support month-end close with tied-out data and provide variance analysis
• Lead reconciliation between Stripe, Shopify Payments, Amazon, banks, internal DB, and QuickBooks
• Reconcile marketing spend and invoices against finance records
• Design and maintain dashboards in Sigma for Finance and leadership
• Document business logic behind metrics and perform data prep using KNIME/dbt or equivalents
• Transform raw transaction data in Snowflake into usable datasets reflecting financial rules
