SummitStone Health Partners in Fort Collins, CO, is seeking a Financial Counselor to provide financial clearance support for behavioral health clients who are uninsured or underinsured. You will conduct screenings, determine eligibility for Medicaid and charity care, and educate clients on costs, billing, and rights.

You will collaborate with inpatient and outpatient teams, verify coverage before services, and support re-verification to prevent coverage interruptions while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing or healthcare/medical insurance environment required.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes; experience with billing software and EMR.
• HIPAA understanding and compliance knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Conduct financial screenings for uninsured or underinsured clients and validate documentation.
• Determine eligibility and identify coverage and assistance options to support access to services.
• Verify coverage for inpatient services and assess Medicaid application appropriateness.
• Complete financial clearance for outpatient services prior to delivery of services.
