Job summary

altbanq seeks a Controller to own the day-to-day financial engine—from collections and bank transfers to fund accounting, investor payments, and regulatory filings. You will bridge accounting, operations, and compliance with precision and timeliness across multiple accounts and entities.

Reporting to leadership, you will manage high-volume, detail-intensive tasks including licensing, DFPI/NMLS filings, and annual 1099 preparations, while partnering with processing and operations teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with NMLS filings, state lending licensure, or regulatory reporting.
• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review collections and cash position, execute bank transfers.
• Review and pay invoices, monitor spend for accuracy.
• Manage repayment lifecycle, set up repayments and processing refunds.
• Set up and administer syndications, keep investor positions accurate.
• Process commission payments.
• Maintain books across operating accounts with full-cycle bookkeeping.
• Own state licensing renewals and regulatory filings (NMLS/DFPI).
• Prepare annual filings such as 1099s.
• Track company credit card expenses and liabilities.
• Partner with processing and operations teams for deal support and collections coverage.
