The Financial Controller oversees our day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the VP of Finance. This includes handling all AP/AR transactions, overseeing the employee expense reimbursement process, managing all audits, as well as other accounting tasks. The Accounting Manager oversees the Asset Servicing team, ensuring accurate and timely performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leads the daily accounting tasks including reconciliation and ensuring accurate accounting entries in line with financial policies, AP/AR tasks, invoicing, treasury management, and cash movement. 40%
2. Leads the Asset Servicing team to ensure timely and accurate funding for business owners (Treasury Management). 30%
3. Supports the VP of Finance in budgeting, financial planning, budget-to-actual reporting, and other finance responsibilities to ensure operational excellence. Assists in month-end and year-end closings. 15%
4. Manages insurance policies, including renewals and compliance documentation. Oversees audit preparations, working with internal and external auditors. 10%
5. Identifies opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in finance operations. 5%

Interacts with: Leadership, employees, vendors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; experience in financial technology or lending industry preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with familiarity with US and Canadian financial regulations and financial modeling.
• Minimum of 3 years of team leadership experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools; QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA required.
