Job summary

Camino Search is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and partner with the CFO to strengthen controls and visibility. The role covers multi-entity consolidations, cash flow, and system optimization in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment.

You will own the monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and support budgeting and variance analysis while developing the accounting team in a high-growth, hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in mid-sized, privately held or PE-backed businesses.
• Experience with multi-entity environments and B2B services models.
• Strong systems experience (ERP and operational tools); exposure to job costing or percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus.
• Hands-on leader with strong judgment and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence across functions.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver a timely monthly close, including reconciliations and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Manage multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and billing accuracy.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, tax compliance, and audit readiness.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with the CFO.
• Oversee job costing, inventory controls, and project-level financial tracking where applicable.
• Optimize and maintain core accounting and operational systems.
• Act as a finance partner to non-financial leaders, translating financial results into business insights.
• Manage and develop the accounting team.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on Controller role suited for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys operating close to the business. The Controller will own day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with the CFO and senior leadership to strengthen financial controls, improve visibility, and support broader organizational objectives.

• Hands-on leader with strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence across functions
