Job summary

Confidential Jobs, a rapidly growing manufacturer of consumer goods, seeks a Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, controls, and finance operations. This role partners with executive leadership to support growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

You will drive month-end close, GAAP-compliant reporting, and internal controls, overseeing GL, AP, AR, inventory, and cash management while mentoring the accounting team and optimizing ERP systems to scale with the business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-15+ years in accounting/finance with progressive responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• Experience leading audits, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• ERP implementation/optimization experience in a manufacturing/CPG setting.
• Strong knowledge of cost, inventory, and manufacturing accounting; controls focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements and timely reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, payables, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, and cash.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes across the organization.

Job description

Currently looking for a Controller of a rapidly growing manufacturer of consumer goods to lead accounting, financial reporting, controls, and finance operations. This individual will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership and play a critical role in supporting growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial processes across the organization.
• Support operations, supply chain, procurement, and commercial teams on inventory, costing, margin improvement, and business performance initiatives.
• Develop and mentor the accounting team while building scalable processes to support company growth.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and finance process automation.

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10-15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or Accounting Director experience.
• Experience within food & beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), consumer products, food manufacturing, ingredients, beverage, or closely related industries.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, and financial controls.
• Proven track record leading audits, month-end close, and financial reporting functions.
• ERP experience required; experience with mid-market or enterprise systems preferred.
• Private equity-backed, founder-led, or high-growth environments are highly valued.
