Job summary

Landing Point is seeking a seasoned Controller to build and lead the finance and accounting function in a fast-growing snack brand.

The role focuses on creating accounting infrastructure, implementing an ERP, and developing a high-performing team to deliver GAAP-compliant monthly statements and reporting packages.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Experience in CPG, food & beverage, or consumer products, with a focus on retail distribution and trade spend complexity.
• Proven experience building accounting infrastructure in an early-stage or lean environment.
• Experience with AP/payment automation tools and ERP implementation.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting, with strong Excel skills.
• CPA preferred, with experience in investor-backed companies and trade promotion management systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a chart of accounts and build the general ledger from scratch.
• Own all journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and period-end workpapers.
• Lead and develop the AP/AR team, overseeing all operations including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
• Serve as the accounting lead on ERP implementation and define the accounting structure within the ERP.
• Establish a controls framework and lead the company through its inaugural external audit.
• Build the company's accounting SOP library and drive continuous improvement across financial operations.
• Establish product costing methodology and maintain standard costs across the SKU portfolio.
• Prepare accurate monthly GAAP financial statements and produce monthly reporting packages.

Compensation:

Salary: $130,000 – $170,000, Plus Bonus
