We are partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee its accounting and finance function. This individual will play a key role in leading financial operations, strengthening internal controls, supporting strategic initiatives, and partnering closely with operations to drive business performance.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills along with deep experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management functions
- Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee all aspects of cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
- Maintain and enhance standard costing methodologies and inventory controls
- Analyze manufacturing variances, production costs, labor efficiencies, material usage, and overhead allocation
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and margin performance
- Ensure accurate accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventor
- Review inventory valuation, cycle counts, and inventory reserves while providing financial insight into operational performance
Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Develop financial models, reporting tools, and operational dashboards to support executive decision-making
- Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve business performance
- Track and report on key operational and financial metrics
Leadership
- Lead and mentor the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting efficiencies
- Serve as a trusted business partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting operations
- Strong knowledge of Cost accounting
- Standard costing
- Inventory accounting and controls
- Manufacturing variance analysis
- ERP Systems
- U.S. GAAP, Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing or operational locations
- Background improving or implementing ERP systems and financial processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to partner effectively across finance and operations
