Controller Growing Manufacturing Company

Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturing company known for its collaborative, positive culture and long-tenured team. They are seeking a Controller to serve as a hands‑on financial leader and trusted business partner to operations and executive leadership. This role blends strong technical accounting with strategic insight and cross‑functional collaboration, supporting the company's next phase of growth and ERP transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Maintain ownership of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.
  • Partner closely with production teams to monitor manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements; provide clear, actionable insights to leadership.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, account reconciliations, and timely payments and collections.
  • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and recommend strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to track and analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, and material spend.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure requests and oversee project cost tracking.
  • Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor the Office Administrator, who supports various financial and administrative functions.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of progressive financial management experience, ideally within a manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and experience working with ERP systems.
    • The company currently uses QuickBooks Desktop and plans to migrate to a full ERP within the next year; experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus.
