Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking a Financial Assistant to handle accurate and timely financial processing for the Computer Store and Endpoint Services. Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial transactions, reporting, and forecasting for the Computer Store.
  • Reconcile budgets, track spending trends, and ensure compliance with college policies.
  • Manage billing, assist with inventory workflows, and support the CAPS equipment program.
  • Train and supervise student workers while maintaining documentation for internal audits.
  • Prepare budget reports, monitor and reconcile all accounts, and advise the Director on financial issues.
  • Reconcile current fiscal year budget and spending, P-card transactions, and adherence to college policy.
  • Prepare financial transactions related to inventory, including journal transfers, cashier deposits, and purchase orders.
  • Prepare invoices and journal transfers for research computing storage.
  • Develop, document, and maintain financial processes and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support year‑end financial close activities, including inventory reconciliation.
  • Assist with inventory operations, receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming goods.
  • Provide backup support for Computer Store operations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate financial and inventory records in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Support audit preparation by ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
  • Partner with colleagues across departments to share information, strengthen workflows, and achieve shared objectives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Financial Assistant

The Financial Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions supporting the Computer Store and Endpoint Services. This role ensures strong financial oversight through account reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement, supporting operational efficiency, promoting financial transparency, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
