Job summary

Highgate Hotels is offering a Summer 2027 Finance Intern position at the Dallas Growth property. Gain hands-on experience in hospitality finance and learn how financial decisions impact business growth.

You will join the Accounting and Finance Team, assist with daily accounting (AP/AR/reconciliations), help prepare monthly statements, and get exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and audits during a 10-week onsite program in Dallas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree.
• Minimum Junior status.
• Knowledge of Accounting and/or Finance principals.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills.
• Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time-efficient manner.
• Ability to participate in a 10-week program (June - August).
• This position requires an applicant to work onsite.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Accounting and Finance Team.
• Assist the property finance team with daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting.
• Gain exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis at the property level.
• Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and internal control procedures.
• Observe how finance partners with operations to drive profitability.
• Use hotel accounting systems under supervision.
• Shadow property finance leaders and attend professional development sessions as part of Highgate's internship curriculum.
• Participate in month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month end financial statements
• Assist with various projects as needed
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
