Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Staff level Engineer to lead the Finance Data Platform, powering revenue reporting and compliance across the business. Define the technical vision and build auditable pipelines with Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.

You will mentor engineers, partner with Finance, Accounting, and Revenue leadership, and ensure data accuracy, governance, and regulatory readiness while influencing architecture decisions and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS or related field.
• 8+ years in data engineering/architecture with staff-level exposure.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructures.
• Familiarity with finance data pipelines and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a data platform supporting revenue recognition, billing, and reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to translate requirements into architecture.
• Define guidelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage with auditability and lineage.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering excellence standards in a high-accountability domain.
• Ensure data pipelines meet SOX, SOC 2, and regulatory requirements with strong governance.
• Drive architectural decisions and roadmap for finance data maturity and cost balance.
• Build data infrastructure translating raw usage into revenue for forecasting models.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy options across financial and billing tooling.
